Dr. Roy G. Taylor, Ph.D., is a sitting Chief of Police with more than 40 years of experience in federal, state, local, and private Police Chief positions. He provides expert witness testimony and consulting on police policies, procedures, and administrative practices to attorneys, municipalities, the insurance industry, and facilities involved in litigation. He is retained by both plaintiff and defense counsel.

Credentials

Dr. Taylor holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Walden University, a Master of Science in Occupational Safety from East Carolina University, and is a graduate of the US Army's Command and General Staff College. He has served as Chief of Police for Blue Ridge Public Safety, Capitol Special Police, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Dorothea Dix Hospital Police, and the North Carolina towns of Liberty, Norwood, and Bladenboro. He is an adjunct professor at Meredith College, President of the Company Police Association of North Carolina, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and its Community Policing Board, and a member of the North Carolina and Virginia associations of chiefs of police. His published work includes "Ethically Correct" (The Journal, The Voice of Law Enforcement, 1997) and "Creating an Ethical Atmosphere" (Community Policing Consortium, 1998).
