Campus and Institutional Experience

Dr. Taylor's perspective on campus security is informed by service on both sides of the campus relationship. He is an adjunct professor at Meredith College and a member of the Meredith College Master's in Criminal Justice Advisory Board. He served as Chief of Police of Dorothea Dix Hospital Police, as Chief of Police of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, and as a Law Enforcement Specialized Instructor at Wake Technical College and Durham Technical College. He is President of the Company Police Association of North Carolina, whose member agencies include campus police departments, and he has more than 40 years of law enforcement experience in federal, state, local, and private Police Chief positions.

Credentials

Dr. Taylor holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Walden University and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety from East Carolina University. His areas of expertise include law enforcement training, policies and procedures design and implementation, physical security, and emergency management. He evaluates campus and school security cases against current and prevailing national standards and has consulted on more than 120 federal cases dealing with police procedures.
